we stayed here because they allow pets. unfortunately the pet rooms are restricted to rooms on foam st. which is a busy, noisy street.
Victorian Inn- Monterey
hotel room was clean, comp breakfast meal was pleasantly good. Wine and cheese in evening nice touch. Two problems durig our visit: Poor net access in the rooms, they gave us a signal booster in addition still could not get access. Had to go to lobby for email. $12 per day parking charge is excessive. The only way they inform you of it's on their confirmation, not mentioned on web site. We called to get parking charge waived or we would find other property, they agreed then charged it anyway on checkout.
Great stay
Hotel was great. Wine and cheese as well as breakfast meal were both excellent. had a hotel room with a king bed and fireplace. Everything could ask for for the price. It was also two blocks from cannery row. convenient.

thought also that The hotel rooms were decorated in a victorian/romantic setting, it was only the office, where they served wine/cheese so that was deceptive,rooms need improvement The hotel rooms where we stayed with 3 kids didnt even have screens on them,once the windows were opened.
TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT
Monterey is such a gorgeous area that you do not want to ruin your visit by staying in an overpriced property. the room, parking charge, pet charge of $35.00 and making us stay in an handicapped hotel room which is dark, small and poorly decorated left a real bad impression of the Best Western hotel chain. the service is minimum and lack of enthousiasm on top of that.
